For old style using a gen 3 intercooler with a gen 5 supercharger.
Funny, simple formula. The simple formula would be in a college thermodynamics text book. Start in chapter 1.

Learning new mill and the software is very time consuming

That is so sexy! These new intercoolers will stay aluminum or eventually switched over to phenolic?
It's a phenolic sandwich. Aluminum on both sides with 1-1/2 phenolic in the middle.
The phenolic

i wish i had a toy like that. nice work.
toy my ass i bet that equipment cost a boat load.
That is really nice! How much will these new intercoolers go for?
First 2 only for same price !!!!!!
Gen 5 for $554 with bolts.
1. New core is on center of the manifold air inlet.
2. Big core, just a little bigger than zzp.
3. 3/4" connections Not 3/4 reduced to 5/8.
4. Connections are bent for better hose clearance.
5. Working PCV (no modification to LIM)
6. 1-1/2" phenolic in center
The cores don't come pre-sealed right?
I have a 3800SC swapped P Body and need the connections pointing in the opposite direction than a W Body.
I assume I can flip the core to point the hose connections in either direction?
I hadn't decided about pre-sealed for new intercooler. The connections are not on center so the core can not be flipped.
If feasible, I would love the have my core pre-sealed.
Looking fantastic.
LMK, when mine is ready.![]()
When will you have a gen v available
I'm hoping to have 2 gen 5 intercoolers done this weekend. One is spoken for. I have material to make 4 total.
Mounted my coolant system on the new mill today to improve my feeds and speeds.
What is needed to seal off the coolant passages to the SC? ZZP O-rings?
OEM yellow O-rings. There will not be a hole in intercooler so it will block the passages.
Could also 1/4 pipe plug the ports.
New gen 5 manifolds don't have c'bores for I-rings. RTV or pipe plugs.
Are you still on track to get them finished this weekend?
Have you decided yet. if you are going to pre-seal the core?
Bump for more pics?![]()
On track for this weekend. I'm going to seal your core for sure.
