18mm 21mm and T55 torx. Tighten them to-tight efvckingnuf
Should be the same for 97-03 gp and regal.
I know the ball joint nut is a 18 mm. Is the nuts for the main mounting bolts 21mm? And is that T55 torx the correct size for that big torx bolt. I found the actual torque for the mounting nuts. They are 83 ft-lbs. I'm trying to figure out if I have the correct tools to pull one or not. My dad has some big torx but I'm not sure just how big he has.
The one bolt is 18 mm and the nut on the bolt is 21mm. The torx bolt is t55 and the nut is 21mm.
Yeah I did it a couple weeks ago
Scottydogger just did his. Make it look easy. Maybe that's because he was working on his subframe while it was off the car? Either way.. get a big dude and they make it look easy.
Ehhh I've seen them fight and also come out easy. Seems to depend on the car. does your car love you?
Luckily I am that big guy that people get to break bolts loose lol. Mine aren't necessarily bad but I can see the bushings getting kinda rough looking. Plus the car has 134k on it so the bushings plus the ball joints have got to be either worn out or right on the verge of it. Someone mentioned using heat, which I don't a torch laying around, but I did figure it would probably help to put penetrating oil on them for a few days before I go to break them loose. I'd be pissed if I pulled everything else loose just to find that I could get the mounting bolts off.
And are the sizes correct as far as everyone knows? I know I've got the 21 mm and I think the big torx. I've got to get an 18mm cause I think I lost it somewhere. Is there enough clearance to put a deep well socket on the nut or do I need a wrench there? It looks like I would have the clearance but I figure someone who has done it would know more than me on the clearance.
You'll need a 21mm deep well, 21 mm wrench, 18mm wrench, and a t55 torx bit. I used my impact and that made it go ok. I had to cut my ball joint off because the whole thing was spinning.
