Last winter i purchased the GM performance Parts Aftermarket sawy bar for my 2000 Grand Prix GTP. I purchased it from ZZPerformance and they didnt know what to do about my problem.

Last weekend i jacked up my car to look at some stuff. I noticed when the wheel was turned all the way to the left and right that my inner tie-rod is HITTING MY SWAY BAR. I'm losing about a 1/4 turn of my wheel. There are no after market tie-rods or any thing. Just this sway bar. Does any one have any ideas?

I was thinking that the spacer that is on the swap bar bushings, if i cut it in half or remove it, this would give me my clearance. BUT can i even do that?

You can do that I suppose but if you do also cut the other side to match since the sway bar acts like a torsion spring. Do not cut a lot off though, just enough to get your clearance. I imagine that if you change the mounting a whole lot them your suspension can get thrown off.

I would try maybe flipping the sway bar first though, It's been a while since I've played with mine but some of the bends car clearance issues with DPs so maybe the same thing is happening with your tie rods.

I'm sure someone can chime in on this who knows more about suspensions than I do.

So you guys think flipping the bar will increase the clearance where the endlinks sit?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Flipping the sway bar had more to do with the sway bar hitting the down pipe more than anything else. You also realize that unless the car was on wheel stands, all your steering and suspension would not be in the same position as it would be when on the ground.

What I'm saying is you could be seeing a problem that really doesn't exists. I would also think you would of noticed a solid lock when you hit it while driving.

I noticed them when the car was jacked up. I did lower it so it is sitting on the ground and they were still hitting, and now that i think about it flipping the swap bar wont lower it. Im going to have to cut those spacers

Just be sure to cut them both to the same length.
