Replaced brakes and rotors. They were squealing but rubbing/grinding. Did that today. I still have the noise after changing the rotors and brake pads. I hear it mainly when I come to a stop, but even after I drive away from a stop I hear it and it continues on.

Check the anti rattle clips. By breaks you mean pads or calipers? You could have a sticky caliper. Also Did you lube everything when you put it together?

I replaced the pads, and the rotors. Lubed everything as in the caliper bolts? Yes, what else should have been lubed? One of my friends, friends is a GMAC mechanic, he was in town for the day and helped me do it.

Contact points between caliper and pads. Sure its not a bearing?

Funny story related to this: customer asked me this weekend if there was a lube he could put on his rotors to help with brake noise...

Well, if you think it is the brakes are still causing the noise I have an idea.

Be aware the brake cylinder retracts a very small amount after pressure is released, I’m talking about the wheel cylinder just to clarify. If your brake cylinder doesn’t retract, it will make a little noise because the shoes will rub a little against the rotor. But the brakes will still work fine. Re-building the brake cylinder is easy and cheap, it just takes a bit of time.
This may account for the noise just after stopping, the noise before you stop could simply be your new pads are just more aggressive than your old ones. Just a thought

rebuild kits are becoming more and more difficult to find. Most people just say to hell with it and buy a reman caliper.
