its doesnt make a difference what its for, he just wants to know where to run it...

im not gonna explain it all but there is a grommet (rubber boot) in that area which will be your best bet to run your wire. pics explain where its at

I agree that its probably irrelevant what he wants it for, but thats not typically how we respond to one another here.

Damn BlackBonnie you keep on kickin! Thanks for all your help!

I am trying to run a 4 Gauge cable from the battery to the trunk for a amp.

Im going to play around for an hour before work on running the cable. I need to pic up that loc converter today too. Only problem is that it is so damn cold around here. It also gets dark at about 5:30-6.

Thank you again BlackBonnie and I am assuming that I will request some of your support in the near future

This is the only place I could find that looks possible to run the cable through. I tried to remove the rubber grommet with my hands, but was unsuccessful. I did not use to much force, just incase I couldnt get it in.

Is this where I need to run the cable?

Oh and BTW, this is how my project is looking so far

That is exactly where you need to run the cable. You just push it thought the grommet an find it on the inside of the car. If I remember correctly, you have to go under the dash along the floor in the center of the car. It is a little high. If it is too difficult, I always find that it is easier to push through a smaller wire first to pull the larger one with.

Nice ima go give it a shot.

So I should not need to rip apart the dash for this correct?

Im going to have a feeling im going to have a hard time seeing the wire inside the cabin. Ill let you know how it goes

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the picture of my 4ga Power wire I ran. I ran mine through the same spot where all my gauges run through. And then I just ran it along the door sil passanger side of the car. I just unscrewed and removed the plastic sils and fed the cable through there. I am going to be redoing my power line, going to 0/1ga wire, here in next the month. I then ran my RCAs up under the tranny hump to the rear.

You can see the RCA cables in the center near the tranny hump. And a little tip, its a heck of a lot easier with the passanger seat removed

No ripping apart your dash, just pull off the fabric trim under the glove box and the plastic trim along the floor at the door to pull back the carpet. Push the wire through atleast a foot to make sure that there is enough for you to find and then go hunting. You can not get any better pics than what is already posted

edit, mine always end up under the black rubber that you see in the pics above. I guess my car is just a little odd

Im thinking im just going to get it installed by a pro. I called up a place in my area and they can have it done in a few hours for $50.

A little pricey, but they will do it right.

Think I should go for it?

Its called "Car Smart" in Hanover Park.

    They are doing the following

Running power cable from battery to trunk
Running remote cable from the head unit to a switch under the dash.

Total including parts and labor is $81

They will do a nice clean install. They were working a Porsche 911 so I figure they can't be that bad.

well first off that is not where i wanted you to run the power wire. the place to run it is actually lower on the car close to underneath the body.

its where your firewall starts to curve to go underneath your body and its closer to the passenger wheel. you will most likely have to put it up on jackstands when running it. i didnt put it up there but it would have been easier if i did

It should be fine going through either grommet...and I would second doing it along the door bottoms under the sill plates...I ran numerous wires inside a 1" loom through there when I installed my CARPC.

I got it done. Came out to $100. Power and Remote wires all installed. Ran very clean through the side trim. This job was done in one day and the amp part was done in 20* weather so it looks rather ghetto at the moment but it bumps very hard!

    Here are some pics:

Yes I know it does not look like the best install, but as long as it is safe, I do not think anyone is going to be a sub critic when they sit in the back seat and enjoy the back masage

Oh and I also forgot to get pics of the switch that was installed under the dash and quality of the job done under the hood. I will get those soon

Anyone know how to remove that back plate on the rear arm rest/cup holder?
