Goes blank when fog and/or beams are on. Works with lights off. All other lights work on the dash. Went out same time as gear shift lights. Fuses good. Any ideas?

96 GTP, Factory Delco w/ CD and equalizer.

Is it just the radio display that dims or is it the buttons also?

It is just the clock/station display. Everything else on dash works. The lights for the gears went out at same time. Obviously electrical, just strange to me the combination. My HUD works, everything, but those two things. It's kinda like my Caddy where the brights come on when I turn on my right signal. I know nothing about electrical except how to swap a computer.

When you say the gear shift lights, do you mean on the cluster or on the shifter?

If I remember right, the radio and the shifter share a ground. If that's the case, the ground could need a little TLC.

Gm radios are so prone to failure in some way.. id say swap it for a nice pioneer with bluetooth and call it a day.. youll thank yourself especially when you can use handsfree in the car.. and when you do decide to sell the vehicle.. you can always put the gm radio back in.. and let it be someone elses problem lol

It is on the actual shifter Ex.
Rob, it is on the list, just haven't gotten that far yet. Body stuff to worry about first. The CD player doesn't work either. Hasn't as long as I have had it. Just says error, no big deal.
I will see if I can find someone to find the ground. Thanks!
