    my ingnition key will not turn back in lock postion to release the key. any ideas? new guy here

    under the column is a plastic button, it pops off, if you stick a pen or stick up there it will hit lever and let you turn your key back. chances are you have a shift lock solenoid problem.

    98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

    where is the shift lock solenoid located? where can you buy one to replace ? thank for your help

    i got the key out but iam able to shift out of park with no key in

    the sensors all work together, you have one in the shiftier as well, one quit the other dont what to do most of the time. they work together. with the brake pedal. unless thats been a problem before this.

    when you fix the ignition solenoid the other one should work again. i believe. but could be wrong lol

    check your battery, my 98 did the same thing, found the battery was dead.
