ok so i installed my hid last week both lows and fogs, the lows have a relay harness wired up and the fogs harness is getting wired up this weekend, but my problem is that when i turn them on, the high beam light comes on and is dim. I've read the thread about swapping around the wires but i only have a single beam kit and only 2 wires in the plug, so i got a wiring diagram and the wires are correct the black wires are going to ground and the red wire for the harness is going to the tan wire for the lows in the factory wiring. and the fogs are wired up correct also the black wire for the hid blub is going to the black wire in the socket and the blue wire for the hid blub is going to the purple wire in the socket, so since i have them all wired correctly why is the light still on? But another weird thing is that the light only comes on when the fogs are on. So today while i was checking the wires, i took some readings and this is what i got,,
-With all the lights on i got a reading of 4.89v on the Lt green wire which is the wire for the highs
-with just the lows on(fogs off) i got a reading of 66.5mv on the Lt green wire
-and when i hit the high beam switch all the lights turned off, like there suppost to and i got a reading of 14.52v, so all thats good

so the only thing thats not right is that im getting 5v on the high beam side when all the lights are on..why?
the only thing i can think of is that i dont have the relay harness hooked up, because when i put the lows in the light was dim but since i have the relay harness working the light doesn't come on with just the lows on
so will wiring up the relay harness for the fogs fix my problem?..or is it something else?
btw the kits i have are
    a 55w 8k 9007 kit from vvme
    and a 35w 10k 880 kit from vvme

    thanks for reading

i have the bi xenon dual beam HID's if you get a kit with only low beams your high beam light on your dash will stay on. also when i turn my fog lights on my high beam indicator lights up just a little bit. it has to do with one of the prong connector in the HID harness. When installing my kit i didn't have high beams or fog lights because the high beam wire was crossed with the ground wire so i swapped those and everything worked properly. If you only have low a low beam kit your high beam indicator will always be on. Thats all i know

you guys could just upgrade to the bi xenon kit and wont have that problem. plus having the hid brights can be very usefull.

well i had the option of upgrading to the bi xenon's for 15 dollars so i couldn't pass it up and i wanted my fog lights to work and to not have the high beam light on all of the time that would annoy the crap out of me

Doug, where did you get your Bi-Xenon and what kind did you get? Are the telescoping, or is there a sheild? Also, do you have any pics? I am thinking of doing the same, but don't want to run into any of the above mentioned problems.

this happens when you have burnt out high beams or no high beams at all. i used to have hid with no high beams and the light would be on dim all the time. upgraded to bi xenons with halogen high beams and light went away.

so its normal! if you want the light to go away you need to buy new bulbs (with high beams) thats it.

Ya that part I don't understand but I always have my fogs on so I always had the light. As soon as I upgraded to bulbs with high beams it went away.

i ordered the bi xenon 35watt 8k slim ballast HID kit from vvme.com. the lights are fantastic and are super bright. i don't have nay problems with them at all and they are great. the bi xenons are the teloscoping bulbs with the magnet in the back of them. i have my ballast on my bumper support bar and i have all the wiring tucked besides the relay harness but it's still really clean.

yes i do i was'nt going to buy HID's without one. and i also got the digital slim ballast. they arent just for looks the supply the power in a more uniform current therefore giving your bulbs the maximum life they should have.i tried to completly hide evrey wire and evrey ground and evreything. i ran the relay harness wires underneath the plastic shroud next to the relay. and also the i only had white self tappers so i painted the head of the bolts black.

Ok so I'm running into this problem now. I've got the bi-xenon kit and the high beams recently quit working so now I have the dim high beam indicator light on.... I also have a relay harness so my question is will this hurt anything until I buy replacement bi-xenons?

hmmm. I am wondering if I get two new bulbs (just cheap 55 watt bulbs) and wire them up just so there is a load there but not install them.
