Alright, so here's the situation, when I bought the car from its previous owner, he told me that his son used to have a sound system in there. He told me he took it out and put the stock speakers back in and that they didnt work (the back speakers). For like the first month I think, they wouldnt work, and then randomly, about 2 weeks ago, the back speakers were kicking, and they sounded good.

I turn off the car, and then turn it back on a while later, and they had stopped working. The past week or two though, they've been working most of the time. I know my right, door speaker needs replacing, and I honestly have no clue as to why the back speakers sometimes choose to work. I 've talked to a few people, and this is what I got back:

Since the right door speaker is bad, it can effect the back speakers.

One of the back speakers may be bad, which is causing them to come on whenever they want to.

    The connection is loose.

Now I definitely want to replace my stereo with a new one, but if the back speakers are working and the problem isnt too big, I'd rather just replace the right door speaker and buy a stereo instead of buying all new speakers.

I don't want to sound stupid, but I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

sounds like a loose wire somewhere, off the back of the radio would be the first place I'd look.

or the radio could be bad, and has a internal short.

if everything is taped up, start pulling it apart and do it right, solder and shrink wrap it up,very easy and it forever when done this way, or at least do it right when you get your new radio.

You need to see if the rear speakers are getting power, that is the tool to use.

Ah, alright I see what you're getting at. I do have two buttons nears the steering wheel, and I ve never seen them in a GP before, and I have no idea what they're used for to be honest. It may or may not having anything to do with the audio.

To be honest, I am probably going to have one of my friends look at it, since they know what they're doing, and I'd rather not mess with ANYTHING that deals with electronics with this car lol

Do you have a factory amp? If so, it sounds like the rear channel is out (or going out). If you do not, your culprit is most likely the head unit. One speaker is not going to bring down others, as they are wired independently.

03 GTP...Its got pulleys and stuff.

...I don't know that either to be honest. I am going to have to put some time into it, I really do appreciate the suggestions.

Does the car have factory bose ? If so they are infamous with age to start going out and will certain speakers will go off randomly.if it does have factory bose when replacing factory head unit you will be best off bypassing that amp.
