so i was up til about 4 am yesterday, trying to get my trunk open, ended up taking the seats out (bottom part only) then calling it a day because i did not want to undo the top part with little sleep.

so to explain whats going on, the remote to my car is unresponsive. ive changed the battery and have tried to reprogram and nothing. i have ordered a replacement, now its a waiting game for that to arrive. i have no access to my trunk, and my remote does not work at all.

i have one original copy of the key and that used to be the only one that opened the trunk however, now when i put the key in it will not turn. tried to apply some wd-40, no luck.

to add to my frustration, my trunk button does not work. its never worked since i purchased the car. i checked under the steering column and under the dash on the driver side of the car, and i have 1 cable unconnected. i will post a picture of it as soon as as i can.

i have checked the fuse for the trunk and replaced it (not that it needed it)

i honestly think there has been some sort of short because my taillights are known to flood and i know that somehow the taillights and the trunk are related.

also if it helps my passanger side reverse light is out... just the passanger not the driver. and if i push the brakes once the car is off they do turn on....

brought this car off someone who obviously didnt know what he was doing, probly looking for a quick buck.

any help would be greatly appreciated, and will be + repped

this issue is on a: 99 grand prix gt
manufactured in august (if it helps)

i would crawl into the trunk via taking out the back seat and start looking for bad wires and look at the lock that way

sorry for the delay in posting, below are some pics of the wire i mentioned.

This cable is disconnected its located under the dash on the drivers side. dont know what this cable is for, but if you see above the silver sticker with the numbers there is a scotch tape that has been broken, im assuming that this cable was taped to that and went up the steering column.

another thing that isnt working in my car is the gear lever display. it dosent show what gear you have the car in... pics below.

Wire the trunk switch to the fuse box to test it. Splice the green wire and run a wire from there to the fuse box
