Does anyone know how to connect a digital Driver Information Center (DIC) from a 99 GT to a 12VDC power source to check if the lights and LCD are functional? It has a 24 pin connector on the back plus I have the mating plug with flying leads.

why two threads?
Just trying to determine if the DIC I have is ok. The dash panel is a pain to remove so thought someone would know how to power it up without tearing apart another car just to test it. Thought another thread would be useful for someone trying to bench test their DIC.
Yes, Connect the grey - pink - orange together on a 12+ volt dc supply or car battery. The two blacks are obviously ground, to the negative. I just did this and installed my DIC this past weekend!

Yes it is the cars outline. The other are signal driven from the pcm & bcm. This is my old one. The other has a digital display. This one just has light bulbs in the back.
Thread resurection time.
I have two digital GTP DIC's here, and when I bench test them per Mikey's instructions, the only thing that lights up is the TCS light. I'm no slouch with wiring, but I'm sure I am doing something wrong.
Mikey, do you have your pictures hosted anywhere? Can you post a link to them?
Also, is the plug/harness from a regular GT DIC different from the digital GT or GTP harness? All that I can find mentioned is the number of wires (18 vs 24), and in this write-up ( 97-03 GP Digital Drivers Information Console Install ) buddy says, "I went ahead and just cut the old connector off and stripped the wires on both the body harness as well as the digital DIC pigtail", so I'm guessing that they are different?
The analog DIC has an 18 pin connector. The digital DIC has a 24 pin connector. You don't mention what year GP you have. My 2000 GT did not have both 18 and 24 pin connectors so I had to splice the 24 pin per the table in the post in the previous post There's also a write up in the "how to" section. If you have a 97 to 99 GP you should have both connectors already in the body harness, you'll just have to dig behind the dash to find it. If you have that then you should also have the connector should you decide to add the HUD.

Kid? Wow! Haven't been called that in over 30 years.
I've already read that thread a few times and it doesn't have the answers to my questions.
I have a 2002 GT. I don't plan on ever adding the HUD (they look butt-ugly IMO). So '00+ possibly don't have both connectors then. Thanks for the info.
Now to figure out the bench testing.....
