I have a little red sticker under the hood, saying that it has a remote start installed and can be started anytime. but I wasn't given any remote other than factory ones at the time of purchase.

It's 98 GT.. I'll try to post the pic of the sticker soon.

How do I find out if it actually does have the remote start module(?) in it?
Can I buy a remote only and sync it with the module (if exists)??

    I kinda tried to look inside when I opened my driver side while replacing my DIC..but no luck without knowing what I'm looking for;

    Thanks!

Mine has a toggle under the hood that when the hood closes, it hits and allows it to start when the hood is closed. Also has a reset switch in the cubby left of the steering wheel, led light that will flash...

More than likely yes. The red wire prolly ran to the tach wire which is under all the ignition module on the left in the bottom pic. Is the red wire not hooked up anymore?

That'd be my next question. How do I know if it's hooked up or not? I traced it and I lost it behind the brake fluid reservoir (which goes to right side of bottom picture.) I'll try to see if it goes to the ignition module.

But aren't there supposed to be a module or something that receives/controls remote start signal?

The red wire is connected to #1 wire.. what does this mean?

number one plug wire or pin #1 in the ignition control module , definately shouldent be hooked up to the plug wite that would fry any remote start on the planet thats like 50,000 volts right ? if it is hooked up to the plug wire its probably fried anyways , unless its a cheap one and its a sense wire like a timing light thing that detects when the motor is running , but most of the times remote starts are hooked up under the drivers side dash and tied into the main ignition harness , with 5-6 thick 12 ga wires and a black box and usually a few relays

it's spliced into #1 plug wire.. some type of sensing purpose i was guessing.

Not,,slightly off the topic, rather moral,
if I go to a remote start shop to check to see if i really have one or not, how much do I have to tip that person??

ok since your getting half baked answers here, that wire under your hood is wrapped around it to sense the pulsing. Some units did that as one option instead of going to a injector or coil or pcm wire.
To check for a system drop your bottom fabric cover and look to see if there is a black or purple module under there usually you will see a bunch of colored wires going to it. Factory wires and wrapped in black tape. So it should stand out. If nicely done it will be more hidden and you might have to pull down your plastic panel under the column.
Follow it to the unit. Once you find it you can see if there is a name/ model on it to possibly get remotes and install manual.

Thanks for your reply. So, by the presence of 'sensing wire', is it safe to think there IS one? I pulled down the panel under the column when I was installing digital DIC, and there wasn't anything particularly standing out, but I will check again. Thanks!

I went there, but don't seem to able to find it. Here are pics that I took:

Maybe I'm stupid-_but nothing stands out except spliced wires(?)
    Any comments is appreciated.

The spliced wires look like it has remote start. Follow the wires and there will be a box under the dash.

Usually its on the driverside. If you look up from the floor you should see it. If you follow the wires that are spliced you should find the box. They normally dont try to hide it. Looking at your pics, are there wires spliced together? Kinda looks like the splice packs are there but are not putting two wires together.
