I'm trying to learn speaker specs now. I know some manufacturer's sneak in 2watts@1meter.

At 8 Ohms yes, at four Ohms 2.81 V is two watts. V=IR which is voltage = current times resistance. Solve for I and multiply by V to get watts (Power=IV). And then you'll see that the nominal impedance makes a big difference in the actual sensitivity and # of ways you can wire the driver up to your amp(s).
