Do the math ... check out with the list I made and add the HP these parts say they gain you. U seem to want dyno numbers , well I have none, and I know the trans is good for 400 HP. Much more and your asking for it to fail. I have a guy who I talked to about tuning my car said he can change the torque setting , raise it and get the full potential out the engine and if I really wanted to get radical there's not a whole lot I couldn't do to it . I just know what I'm willing to do ..... If I wanted a really fast race car then I would speed up my 80 trans am project... and I have already pumped a lot more then 400 HP out of one one of those....

The numbers dont add together unfortunately.

The trans is good for 280 ft-lbs of torque or so as per GM.

They updated the chain, left the input shaft the same, same diff.

    Not exactly a major improvement.

Its better, but its still fragile.

and GXP's are known for having higher tranny temps than 3800 powered versions.

    Kills them quicker.

No transmission is rated for a HP level really. Just torque. Even then, it can go both ways.

I already listed the numbers your car will make...or pretty much close to it...a I/E/tuned GXP won't make 300 horse...bet on it.

I didn't say it would, what I did say is that it is a known fact that if you push that trans up to and past 400 it will smoke it... with said it needs a gear change and an imput shaft for sure.....

Just to clarify, you're talking about wheel tq and not crank right? What kind of dyno are you talking about with that 280lbft tq limit? DynoDynamics reads different than a DynoJet and Mustang. Actually it's as much as a 13% difference between DynoJet and DynoDynamics so it could be as much as 316lbft tq or as little as 243lbft tq. I'm sure you're not talking about crank because the factory output according to GM is 323 for the LS4. Oh and just to note: Transmission - Auto TSI Has Turbo 350 Transmissions with Transbrake Rated to 600 HP - Transmission Speciaties On-line Store Most built transmissions are rated for HP and not TQ, they should be rated for TQ because that's what will wreck them... damn performance engineers...

    not a dyno.

when the thing first came out, 280 Ft lbs was all GM rated it for.

Updated the chain, then it could "handle" the extra 50 ft lbs somehow.

    What does it matter anyhow?

They're known for burning these transmissions.

I hope your trying to be funny and not trying to be a dickhead. An upgrade is an upgrade.
also there are tranny coolers out there that are proven to extend the life of the tranny.

I'm just saying, you'll want a stronger chain and an input shaft.

Shift kit helps, but talk to kevin from CT about it more.

He'll want you to spend around 3500 on the tranny alone.

i agree these tranny's for some odd reason were barely built to handle power they have. i dont get why they would do something like that.

They thought they could make up for the lack of hardware calibration with a tune.

3500 bucks would make a stout LS4 car...since Dave's transmissions are even better and a grand cheaper.

Unless they can prove what you installed caused the warranty work...they can't do anything. And how are they going to tell if a transmission is built? They aren't.

They wouldn't know ... but I am not gonna pay for **** that the factory did wrong until I have too. So I will wait until Aug when the warranty is up and have all winter too play with it... it will all work itself out. This isn't my first rodeo making a car go fast, well faster then it already is,just my fist real computerized car... should be fun figuring it out... with help from all you guys should be a breeze...
