the phenolic works really well as far as I can tell. I put a temp gauge in the front mount heat exchanger, and it is stays at the lowest temp the sensor is calibrated for, 68 degrees F. I'm trying to decide if I care enough to know what the actual coolant temp is to buy an aeroforce coolant temp sensor kit, or just go with an air temp sensor in the lower intake manifold.
