I found a gen v with LIM for $375 shipped. I have an 02 gtp that's lightly modded, dp, 180, tr6, tune by reptile. Is it worth it for me to gen v swap? Or should I just get the MPS and go to a 3.4" and get a dyno tune?
    Thanks.

    It all depends.

3.4" would be simple...doesn't mean the car will run it knock free either.

Same with the GenV...and you could be on a stock pulley.

I'd get a way to scan it before anything. I'd do the modular system, toss the pulley on the GenIII...and enjoy it for awhile. You're not anywhere near maxing out the GenIII.

I'd port the GenIII while it was off too, at least the outlet.

Well, it depends, really. If you want to do more S/C supporting mods in the future, then Gen V all the way. Otherwise, it might not be worth the expense to you.

It becomes a better performance/$ mod if you can get the blower cheaper, I would look around. At my local pick-n-pull yard, you can snag any blower for $60... so Gen V upgrade is no brainer if you get lucky.

I have Scangauge II so I can scan for KR. I want the most bang for my buck, I want to hit 13s- lows 14s ASAP. I ran a 15.07 @94mph on my current setup with a lot of spin at launch and I'm 1 mile high in elevation.

I'll have to look around. The upull it here doesn't have any GTPs but I haven't checked the other junkyards.

You might have to wait awhile for an 04+ supercharged Grand Prix to come in. Unless you need this mod right away, it could very well be worth waiting for.

When you go to buy a supercharger, what do you tell them it is? I used to say it would be under the manifold section and I would usually pick them up for about 75 for the late model stuff. There is an 04' in there right now that I hope is there at the end of the week.

if your just after a time slip spray it for under 500 and call it a day lol........ as for the gen5 if you plan on keeping the car for a while id pull the trigger on a gen5 swap. or spend that cash on a set of rockers. rocker downpipe 3.4 setups are pretty solid and many people run that combo.
How I treat my car: wreck, fix, repeat.

That's an idea too. Would that combo put me at 14.1-14.2 range? And are we talking the 1.9 rockers from zzp?

I'd only go with the Gen V if I got it really cheap, or was maxing the Gen III out. Don't forget to factor the $100 TB adapter into the cost.
