Cam pos sensor was throwing a cel for being out of range. Doesn't kick the code driving only on start up. I'm going to try another sensor soon. Any ideas guys?

Check the wires going to it first. A cam sensor isn't a five minute fix.
Also check to make sure the harness that goes to it, the crank sensor and the oil sensor is plugged in all the way to your coil pack.

Will do. I've been chasing this for about a year. First did the plugs/wires/and a coil. Still had a multiple misfire/cyl 2 misfire/cmp codes then changed the icm and now it's just the cmp code. Just changed the sensor the other day and before if I cleared it it would stay off for a few days then come back on now with this new one it comes on as soon as I turn the car on. It's getting irritating.

I did read on this forum when I did a search that the code went away when people went from running hai or cai to stock air box. Doesn't seem right but whatever works. In running a homemade cai.

Cam sensor should have nothing at all to do with a CAI. I could understand a MAF code from over oiling a filter and killing it. But not a cam sensor.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

That's what I figured. What about a bad icm? Could that throw a cam sensor code?

Could a bad ignition control module cause a cam sensor issue? I'm going to change out the cam sensor again this weekend and hopefully that will fix it..

Unhooked the battery and hooked it back up after about 10 minutes and went inside and took a shower and came outside to go to work and started the car and the cel immediately came on for the cam sensor. But it does seem to idle alot better with this new cam sensor... I don't get it. Next trip is to a shop with a better scanner to try and narrow down the issue.

using the t app it should be clear as soon as you re start the car. if it comes right back after clearing it, you still got a problem there.
