Thread: name those noises!

So everyone. I have 2 noises coming from the motor. One of them is old and it's a lower pitch ticking noise. I think it's the compressor. But I'm probably wrong. The second is new. It's a high pitch kind of squeal I guess. Anyone hear this before?

thats a bad idler or tensioner pulley. take the belts off and hand spin all the pulleys.

all of it. take the belts off fire it up, if you hear nothing now the pulleys are bad.

Oh boy. You were right about that.
But guess what happened today...
The front compressor bracket snapped in half and the compressor fell off. And snapped my belts. So now I get to go to the junkyard tomorrow when it's 30 below outside. Yay.!

now that really blows. a/c clutch seized up on ya. take the compressor as well. the bracket didnt snap for no reason, thats for sure.

My plan was to delete it anyways. My ac system has been removed over 4 years now. Just not the compressor. So I'm gonna order a delete for it and grab a bracket from the junkyard. Is there enough room to remove it though the wheel well. Cause I don't wanna take the front header off.

it should drop down. dont think you need the bracket if your going to get a delete pulley. and shop ebay for that, fvck zzp's dumb price.

Even the parts stores sell them for less than ZZP. It should come out between the sub frame and the rad support iirc.

You do need the bracket. Which stores would sell the delete besides zzp

dorman makes them, so any local parts store should have or be able to to get one next day.

i entered my car then searched ac delete pulley in the search. the part # for the pulley. its $39.99 Part Number:34195

i did look for the bracket. came up with nothing too. looks like your still hitting the JY in the cold.
