R-E-S-P-E-C-T, brah.
But truthfully. If you don't have a custom tune then with those mods, yes.
You need it dialed in.
Just the injectors, other than that it's stock. I get about 0-2degrees of KR up top. A/F is about 10.8 to 11. I have a custom tune, which is worlds better than a mail order one. If you suspected fuel issues, try replacing the filter, run some injector cleaner or do a fuel pump rewire if it hasn't been done.
has a new fram filter (supposedly one of the best flowing ones)
i do plan on getting rewire kit.
how was the tune? any complications? what did you have to tweak the most? what is your timing set at? how much boost you running?
Nick/snowflake did my tune, so it's obviously the best. Timing is about 15* at wot, boost is about 12psi.
i would like to do a gen v swap, but i can never find good deals.
how much hp you makin with ur current setup
If you have a ported gen 3, I wouldn't even bother swapping to a gen V. Seriously.
Well, it is, factory gen 5 vs. Factory gen 3. However once you properly port a gen 3, it's about the same. The only reason why I got my gen 5 was because I was planning to spray meth post blower. I was also feeling lazy, and I didn't Want to port my blower.
Does Torco count as a replacement for E85? It's not reasonable for me to get it, and a 32oz can of Torco can raise 91oct up to 102oct IIRC. I'm sure spraying in a NIC engine would give you as much of a gain as about any other cam engine. Since any company worth a damn should design a jet rated to what it should make at the wheels.
i have a few e85 stations around, no money to dyno tune for e85 though. and missing 60# injectors
i will go e85 eventually though.
Honestly, I'd sell the 42's and get the 60's. You can always tune the car with the 60's for basically any power level it's capable of fueling, my buddy had them on his stock NA regal for a week before he put the turbo kit on lol. Plus this way all you'd really need to do is throw E85 in, tune it and you'd basically be ready to rock and roll.
I also got some billet fuel rails made by ZZP, because I also want to dress up the engine bay for the shows I'll be eventually going to. Do I need to buy a ZZP fuel pressure regulator in order for it to work, or can I use my stock one?
Stock pressure regulator is built into the rail. You would need something to house the regulator to use the stock.
Say something like the PRJ setup. Otherwise you need an external one. I've seen a few from Summit/Jegs that may work for you. Glendale made his own log/FPR setup from tose places.
Ok Bill, thanks. I'll look into universal regulators, and I'll try to find out what other people run on their fuel rails.
Thanks for reminding me, I need to go to PRJ's website and order a racetronix/FPR kit from him.
You can get it direct too... They ship fast as well.
