So ive had this loud grinding noise for a while now but it has gotten worse. Its a Seriously loud grinding noise when my car is in motion or cruising. Ive had people tell me it could be my hub bearing or axle. The grinding comes from my passenger side of the car. Last time i inspected y axles the boot did have a tear in it and was leaking axle grease. So my question is is it my axle because i know my hub bearing cant be making a loud ass grinding like this.

I would def. change that axle. And why couldn't it be the hub? It is a bearing after all. I'd change the axle for sure, then see where that gets you. A leaking cv boot is just asking for trouble. Most likely is has slung all the grease from the joint and now it is toast.

if the grinding goes away while taking a curve to the right or taking a cure to the left while the grinding is occurring and it comes back after the curve...then its a wheel bearing and usually the bearing would be bad on the same side as the grinding going away. good luck. no abs light???

It's like both. No reason for me to say that, except..if you do both, you should be all set after that.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
