I'll sell you my whole car after I get my comp g running if you want a running motor
I got an L36 for $300...
Actually two of them.
So...deals are to be had if you look.
Oh trust me I'm looking . Craigslist. Car-part. Junk yards. Morad. Any other insightful tips on where to look?
In stock form I'd probably take $1000
why dont you try those "junkyard searches". Where you type in what you need, submit your email and if any junkyards across the country have it for the price your looking for they will call/shoot you a email. I remember back in the day I did that for a 5.0 motor for my thunderbird. I think I paid $450
i forget the site, but this one is similar

Exact same thing happened to me, TWICE! On the second build, I used a zinc additive with the engine oil, but that didn't help either. After 2-300 miles came the knock-knock...
These engines are very sensative. I'm on Engine 3 now and finally made it over 500 miles without any issues! Your not alone man...
So what makes these engines so touchy. What do they not like ?
Any contaminated oil .

... What else ?
They don't like the bottom end touched without machining everything before it's put back together.
^ exactly! Don't even swipe your finger across the top of a piston
In all seriousness, They are very ehh, 'picky' motors. The slightest mistake is usually catastrophic!
I give all credit to BillBoost, after flooding his inbox for a few days, he gave me the advice I needed to continue... Thanks Bill![]()
Guess who found a motor for 350 bucksthis guy !! I'm ready to give it another shot . Lets see if I can get this one to last
where did you find it
A private seller about 180 mile out from me . It's in a regal that got rear ended . Should be picking it up Sunday if he gets it pulled
If you blow this motor is installer error! Should be a drop in and fire!
