    Car is a 1997 GTP, 90k miles.
There is a noise coming from near my supercharger, see video provided. The sound on the video doesnt really do it justice, the engine noise where I held the camera clouds the sound I am concerned about.

I have done the SC belt, accessory belt, and the SC oil is fresh. Car runs strong and has been well kept. What are possibilites And how imminent is a catastrophe

hard to tell, but if you take off the sc belt and turn the pulley back and fourth, and feel slop, you need a new coupler. usually the noise goes away when you give it gas.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

Not as much rattle as a ticking.
Yes I have supporting mods/tune for 0kr. Had this car for 6 years now with no issues beyond standard maintenance.

    Thanks for the responses!

if you give it some gas while it in park, not much just a little bit, does the sound go away?

after 6 years i would think its he coupler. if you never had to change it before.

Thank you for the suggestion, I will take a look into it tomorrow morning and report back. I have never replaced the coupler and I am pretty sure the 90 year old man who owned it before me did not either. If its the coupler, I have a couple of questions: How long before it becomes a severe problem? Also, how much roughly do the parts required to fix it cost and what is the complexity of the job? Thanks in advance,

    J

i picked up a coupler off e bay for 21 shipped, and the fluid i went to a GM dealer and got raped for 24 bucks a bottle, most dealers it costs 12.

your supposed to use GM sc oil only, you need two 4 oz bottles.

heres a vid how to change it. and test it. and drain it.

    Thanks for the video link
I forgot to mention an important piece of info which is the fact it does not make any noise until warmed up.
