I have caftsman deep well sockets and huskey deep well sockets. Only the craftsman will reach this nut and stud. The huskey misses is by about 1/2". Even the craftsman cannot be fully clicked on the extension.

Thanks for the help. I need to do this as efficiently as possible my RA makes this kind of stuff harder. Getting old is hell.
blueguy91: Valve covers off didn't pull the elbows. Thanks.
Look so good I need a see-thru VC. I didn't get grommets with my vc gaskets.

have you started it yet?
Did you Loctite the rocker bolts?
I know I had to go back in and re-torque the reusable bolts twice which is why I started Loctiting Comp bolts...trust me, a rocker bolt backing out at WOT halfway through 2nd is kinda sketchy, LOL.
There are also tons of different opinions on the TQ. spec...stock is like 11-12 on the TTY bolts, but the Comp bolts go anywhere from (that I've seen) 21 ft. lbs. to 27 ft.lbs.
I think I ended up getting 25 as the magical # + Loctite to finally shut the valvetrain up
And yeah, grommets...pffft.
I did locktite the reusable bolts I did 23#. Still didn't get it done, had "family" stuff I had to do. I did pick up some Felpro grommetts while I was out.
ALSO.. It looks like I have a leak around the front elbow. I guess I'll do them while I'm this far. Where can I pick up those dorman metal elbows? Are there just the two, one short one and one longer one?
Yeah, I think as of yet you still have to buy them online...and they are like 5~ bones.
I'd order them but just buy the cheapo plastic HELP! section ones and RTV the crap out of them.
Never had any leak issues...evah.
Spun the engine over to see if everything moved freely. Looked good so I put the Valve covers on. I'll start bolting stuff back on that won't matter to the elbows when ever I have a few minutes. Work tomorrow and a family trip Friday. Maybe in a few days I'll get some more real time to work on it. I hope these rockers help my KR.
Pretty, not really a visual part of the car though. Ready to start putting it back together.
All back together. Drives nice. Haven't checked KR or Boost. Temp gauge fluxuated a little on the way to work. It just moved from the first big mark, up two, and back down. It usually stays at the first big mark since I put the 180* in. I Hope I got all the air out, I'll work on that again tonight just in case.
I just did mine as well. Checked around locally for the aluminum elbows but no dice. Got the covers painted while I had them off tho, so that was a plus.
I had to order the elbows from Dorman, Had them shipped 1-2 day. Shipping was more than the parts.
Looking at the leak, I'm noticing that I'm down a 1/4 of a quart in about a month. I haven't down one of these before so if anyone is in the Keene, NH area I'll need a hand working on the rear cover since it is covered by the super charger.
The rear cover isn't covered by the supercharger its behind it.
it would be just as hard to change with or with out the sc on the engine. its not in the way. you need to remove the alt, and the sensor back there, takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Holy Sh1t!!! The rear VC IMO is easier than the front. Just remove enough things until you can get that VC out. If your not mechanically inclined, you might have to pay to get it done. Not trying to be a dick bro, but "really". There are tons of write ups on this site. The search bar up at the top hiding is a great place to learn from. Hope you get it fixed. Oh and try not to highjack anymore threads.
Texas Tanker, Thanks for the advise I wasn't trying to Hijack the thread, I'm Mechanically inclined however, I haven't done this before and I'm doing my research prior to jumping in and having my car off the road for a few hours or days. So please leave the attitude offline.
