Ahh ... don't be so fast to to put folks in buckets. In my case, I have a 150K mi DD 2K GT. Got the <0.080 hole in the emission error and now the air pump is dead. Getting a PCM with emission codes fixed gets me past inspection for less$$ than pump and less time than smoke testing the emission leak. It's good to know if a PCM company is decent ...or not.

Trust me there will be more than just 2 times you tune the car. The point of having it is so you can change whatever you need to on your car to maximise the hp output in any temperature. I would never pay someone 500 to tune my car, that's just stupid, nor would i let someone send me a pcm that "might" work on my car. Fuel trims are very important to get correct and a mail order pcm isn't going to do that imo. It's worth every penny to buy your own tuner and do it yourself. It takes quite a while to dial in fuel trims with my own tuner and to think that a mail or pcm will even get it close is.... haha... riiiiiight.
I have a ZZP PCM, and no complaints. In fact i love it. I bought it with their VS cam. I love the way the Tranny shifts, going from 3rd to 1st at 35mph. It really made a huge difference.
ALTHOUGH Ive yet to try anything else which leads me to this question. Everyone talks about performance between all of these guys, intence, zzp, overkill. I want to know about features. OVERALL what do you guys think about the overkill pcm? Ive done a lot of work to this car and i want something to make it all click, when Im WOT, and when Im just cruising. As i read through overkills list of features it seems to dwarf competitors (aside from being a locked tune).
Also after reading your post Mikegotone, i thought about just getting a tuner. I built the motor myself, and it would sure be nice to tune it myself too. Have you seen the overkill Pcm list of features? do you think it would be diffecult for me to go that deep into a Pcm as a first timer? Ill take it to a pro for A/F, i just want more functionality out of it.

PLEASE...how many different things have you had on your car. You are the most inconsistent person in the GP community I have ever came across...complaining about a rough cam (XP)...griping that Dave's Triple Edge Transmission shifts too hard. Really? It's a race tranny...

THOSE guys are the ones that discover everything and help people like YOU help you make your car run right. If they aren't allowed to ask questions then what is the point of trial and error? Ever think that is how the GTP community began anyhow?

Sure it might have been a older post but I'd like to add...without those people I wouldn't be anywhere NEAR of what I know today.

its an automatic with it shift kit, its supposed to shift hard!!!!!
as for the PCM's ZZP's are junk, i had 3 crap out on me since the SSM90 kit, i went back to my INTENSE and had my new supercharged tables put into it by my tuner. for an off the shelf PCM i would go INTENSE and then have the car tuned by a reputable shop

Hey thanks 04compG, just made an appointment with him, but its a bit over an hour and a half drive. So ill get to enjoy my tune on the way back. anyone interested in his prices, 50 for a PCM tune. 50 to weld bung and plug in downpipe, and 25 an hour for Wideband tunes. he sounds pretty knowledgeable.. Save me 100 on ordering pcm. plus i can get more done.. thanks for the link...

i hear great things about overkills pcms but i would like to tune when i want to.

You might try the plastic prosthesis swap and see if that helps with MPG too due to aerodynamics and materials of the leg
