Unless its not a DD a loan could be ok pending you have other reliable vehicles!

Wrong. Even if it is just a fun car taking out a line of credit just to mod it is beyond stupid. Besides that, the kid is 19, what kind of loan does he really think he is going to get? Especially now with the way banks are? I have outstanding credit and had a hard time getting the loan to get my car. Banks just aren't going to give money away anymore.
Again, he can't afford to put mods on it, so how is he going to afford to pay the loan back? If he wants mods he should save for them. I want to get my Stealth back on the road, but I can't afford it, so it sits until I can afford it. That's called responsibility.
Really? I went into the bank last year and walked out(20min later) with 1700$ on just my signature. The only time I had trouble getting a loan was when I was making 6.50 an hour and I had to get a co-signer.
Secondly the thought that if you mod your car, it is going to break, is crap. It will be fine unless you drive lke an a$shat. I have had my car modded for a while with "to small of a pully" and never had any problems. But Yeah if you're out racing mustangs and hondas every chance you get, beating the crap out of your car, your going to break it. Your car is gunna break weather it is modded or not if it is abused.
Also over all the cam is going to be more exspensive than the rockers, but it will take your car further than just rockers. If you can swing it go for the cam. I couldn't so I went with rockers... Yeah, I admit it, I could not afford the mod I wanted but I modded anyways. But I think I have proven that poor folk can play too...
