only happens on cold start up.
a chirping sound from the top of the engine, supercharger area. after warmed up, it stops.
also is it normal for a push rod engine to be so noisy? i use valveline synpower 10w30, full of oil

Sound goes away when warm? Check pulleys?
Or better yet, post a sound sample...

im assuming your hearing the supercharger
noisy? the supercharger is really noisy...as far as the engine? what kind of noise?
dont really have a way to record sound. almost a metallic chirping sound.
it increases in speed with increased rpm.
http://www.grandprixforums.net/gtpsh...e-7-57653.html does it sound like the video on the last page
is there a way to post a direct sound clip, im on school computers and it wont let me listen to it.
EDIT: found a vid that has the same chirping noise. and it is not a knocking sound, i listened to both flex plate noise and rod knock, it does not sound like that.
in this vid its the chirping sound, not the knocking sound

It's a bearing I'd say. Not sure which, could be tensioner, idler, alternator, etc... It's stopping chirping after the bearing has warmed up and softened a bit. You can find them sometimes by spraying a bit of wd40 on the bearing in question while it's chirping and see if it stops. You could also narrow the possibilities by removing the S/C belt and see if it's still there with it off.
