They make your car run cooler and it depends on what other mods you have on which you need... In most cases 180 is more than enough... if you don't have any other modifications don't bother with it.

leave a stock T-stat then. Specter works fine... K&N can sometimes screw up MAF sensors(the oils).

swap it out if you feel like it when you get a tune. You really won't benefit much at all from it.

It helps reduce KR actually. Even though its just by one (usually or if that) it helps. Its the cheapest beneficial mod you can do.

Though in my opinion not needed until you get a couple more added on.

If you're in a warmer climate state like me, Texas, stick to 180. 160 will be hard on the car and will see a definite change in gas mileage.

The K&N CAN mess it up if you don't properly maintain your car and filter. The MAF needs cleaned every so often. I've had one two years, and no issues at all. And keep the stock 195* thermostat, otherwise you will be wasting money for no reason on fuel. The 180* is a patch to help prevent KR, but you shouldn't rely on the t-stat to lower KR.

I've noticed that on the dyno you will make slightly more power with the coolant at 180 vs the coolant at 195. Like 2 or 3whp... it does a better job of removing heat from the heads when you're beating your car up, but if you don't race it a lot there's no real reason why you should get one.

    I have a 180 on my car though... I'd never go 160.

In the summer, a 180* isn't so bad. In the winter, a lower thermostat will be harder on the engine. Keep it stock - don't change things just because you feel like it.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Lol well even so. Opinion is invalid for replying like a 13yr old teeny bopper

Thermostat upgrades will benefit or hurt depending on your climate.

For example: if you live in the northern states I'd imagine that this mod would not be helpful really do to the temperatures.

-I've seen this mod reduce kr. I agree, do NOT depend on this mod alone to reduce yours. But if your car isn't prone to KR then I wouldn't worry about it.

In other words its very circumstantial. Scan your car first.
