well i dont have injector pulse! now i have to figure out what gives it a beat. ive had the icm tested and it passed. so i just bought a crankshaft pos sensor. thats all i can think of. but the wierd thing is that i have spark.?
camshaft sensor replaced..... no start
What year is this car?
With ignition on, check for power at the injector plug.
The pcm supplies ground. First at key on, it primes the pump and cylinders which gives you a momentary injector pulse, turns the injectors off until the motor is running.
It's a 2000 gtp. I have power at the injector plug. Just not pulse. I replaced the cam sensor. And i scanned it and got a engine speed reading. So the crank sensor works?
I don't think so. I put the stock pcm on and no change
No codes?
Slowly go through your exhaust repair in your head, while looking at the individual items as you remember them. It sounds like something not assembled correctly. Check your grounds, did you leave a nut/bolt loose? Theres one on a stud at the transmission, theres one under the icm. Is there a plug not plugged in all the way and you disturbed it while working on the car? etc? Sometimes a person can cause problems that just won't ever happen under normal circumstances and these problems can throw normal trouble shooting procedures out the window. Think outside the box now, take your time and recreate every step of the work you performed.
Alright. Thanks. No codes. I'm confused cause all I took off was the throttle body plug wires and dogbones. But ill take another look.
get a noid tester and plug it into one injector connecter. try to start car if the tester blinks you have pulse if it stays lit you have a wiring or circuit issue
Could it have something to do with the anti-theft system?
There is a chance the fuel pump is going bad, but taking it's sweet time to do it. I've had (and seen) cars that won't start, and then can't reproduce the problem for weeks at the time where you could hear the fuel pump kick on, but the car would die shortly after. And also cars where the fuel pump would crank the engine, but not pump fuel after it started.
this was an extremely easy fix that took about 2 mintues. one of the wires go to a sensor on the tb was cut some how. I couldn't believe it when I saw it
