    Not sure what your problem is buit an alternaror is not the issue. I would star by checking the ground and look for any loose connections

    Thanks man, appreciate the help. It's safe to assume I know nothing about electrical work, so don't feel like your giving me too simple an explanation. I can probly tell if a connection is loose when I'm staring at it, but I don't know what connections I should start looking at. I don't know how to check the grounding at all either. And yes being such a noob at electrical is frustrating lol.
