Ok i will be tearing down my l67 heads to begin porting them.... common sense tells me i need to have an old set of valves in there to protect the seats while i port and need to pull the old valve seals to be sure no metal is left after cleaning.
so far from what i read, the exhaust ports need/ will get the most work. I will gasket match the intake and smooth out the chamber a bit...
i dont want to waste money of course... but if im this deep i might as well get some stuff done...so what should i do while down this deep?
so far here i what i know i need:
-topswap gasket kit
-set of Viton valve seals
-will be port matching the LIM and porting blower as well.
was thinking about SI valves at least for the intake. as i want to be able to rev high.
also was thinking now would be the time to change the springs since its all apart. i am pretty much decided on a GT2 cam for my own reasons at this time. Since i want higher RPM like around 6500-6700 shift points. should i be looking at 90# or 105's? and then will lifters be a good idea? then again i might be able to wain on the lifters until i do the cam...
