I have a 2004 gtp comp g as well and my car sort of does a similar thing as his does. Mine just does it when its cold and i put it from reverse to drive it sometimes wants to puke, but in the sense just catches if you will and goes. My dad said its probably just from not letting it warm up. I'm convinced its transmission related. It's never died nor has it ever been a bigger problem. Just every now and then. One of those pontiac quirks In the cooler days I usually remote start and let it warm up for a few minutes as I walk out to her and she's good. My car has almost 112,000 still going strong! =D
