i was driving my car home from work the other day, casually, i stop at a red light roll down my window and when im at the light i lowered my music because i heard a noise... best way/ best video i can find already uploaded that matched the sound almost identically is this....

    ‪2000 GTP Knocking Noise..flexplate?‬‏ - YouTube

... i just dont know if its a rod, flex plate, bearing... or what. i dont understand how this can possibly happen with 105k miles, i change the oil ever 3k-4k miles.

There is a flexplate video that came up after I watched yours, similar sound.
    Just a guess though.

Sounds like a flexplate for sure. Mine just came loose, it didn't crack. The jackwagon that assembled my drivetrain at the factory didn't put any blue loc-tite on the crank bolts and a couple were backing out, and 5 were hand tight! Flexplate is an easy fix, and a cheap one, but it's labor intense pulling the motor. Might as well throw in some goodies while you're there though.

Easy way to rule out a FP or not...if it ONLY does it at IDLE...flexplate noise goes away once there is load on the motor. I can't see the video since I'm at work...but if that isn't the case...I'd be looking into the bottom end.

not 100% of the time... A cracked one will wobble and whatnot under load.

i would say it does it when i accelerate too, but it seems like if im doing 40 or more, i cant hear it, i mean my cars kind of loud, but still i think i would be able to hear that.

would a mechanic be able to snake a camera in to check?

Possible, but you may be able to tell if something is wrong by taking the inspection cover off the bottom and having a look. That's about the only place I would think you could even begin to look around for issues. Of course if it's a bolt loose or a crack around the center area, then you may be stuck.

You can see quite a bit of the flex plate from underneath the car (just the one side), if you get someone to turn the motor over by hand while you have a look.
