Found the stupid thing! Haha. I will have this done this afternoon!
Re: Won't start after cam install
Got it all back together. But my battery needs charging. It's dead as a door nail. I'll let that charge for a while.
One question. Does anyone know what the clearance should be between the valve spring retainer and the valve seal on LS springs? I'm maybe sitting around 0.030" right now.
Re: Won't start after cam install

should be more than that. your cam is in the .400s for lift.

Isn't the lift with the VS cam 0.507 and 0.512?
Re: Won't start after cam install
might be but think about it if you have .03 till the retainer hits the seal and your rocker moves .5.

Re: Won't start after cam install
Every few seconds, I kind of get a deep popping noise, sounds like exhaust. The idle rpm is moving from around 750 to 850, AFR from 14.9 to 16.9, and the boost gauge jumps around 4 psi. Maybe a vacuum leak?
Re: Won't start after cam install
awesome!, congrats.
now go enjoy it.

try the carb cleaner spray test around the engine yet to see if it has a vac leak.
Re: Won't start after cam install
I think I figured out the vacuum leak problem. I took it for a drive, and at like 30 km/hr, I heard a metallic clank sound, and it jerked. I think it's my CV joint though. When I pulled the motor, the transmission came up a bit too, and stressed it really bad. It's leaking green grease, so hopefully that's my issue here now.
Could an axle be bad enough that it momentarily clunks and slows the car down?
