    I did an engine swap into my 99 regal gs with the motor out of a 06 pontiac grand prix gt. My issue is that after i got the engine in and went to start it it just clicked i checked voltage tapped on it and charged the battery but it has the starter off of the 99 regal. my question is if there is a differnce in starter motors or not if so does any one have a part number for me. I could relay use any help i can get on this on the internet isnt telling me much

    the starter off either should work for you. If you are only getting a click. Ensure that you have all three grounds hooked up at the lower front trans bolt/stud and that the battery cable plus..uh one or two power wires are hooked up at the starter.

    With all of that good, the only other issues/problems could be corroded battery cables or weak battery.

    If you get a click..you can get a vrooom

    I found the issue wire un hooked rookie mistake on my part I had it tucked out of the way too well but I gave my l32 scrap yard motor life tonight so all is well I have lots of pics thinking about doing a right up

    04 comp G, front/rear towerbraces, pacesetters, ported sc, LIM, 3.3 pulley, 1.9 mod rockers, Ls1 springs and retainers, custom dyno tune, 180 tstat, shortned dog bones, full poly mounts, zzp shift kit, custom fwi, 28inch cherry bomb, flowmaster 40's. 290whp 380wtq before the button. coldfusion n2o, 60 shot.     There are never too many write ups.

    A pro leaves stuff out because he takes certain things for granted.
    A newbie details all the steps and shows some stuff as pain points, then the pro's mention the easy way to deal with the issue. Overall you get a great writeup

    I got it turned over cranked it a few times my batt died i got it charging while im at work i will go home and make sure i can crank it and get my oil pressure up any issues i should expect like the pump leaked down my oil so i need to re prime i put a quart on the valves and filled the oil filter got plugs out and icm unhooked fuel pump relays out as well anything i should look for??? this is a salvage motor that has sat for a year so im just curious
