If I installed some L26 ported and polished heads on my 2001 GT with the SS M90 kit, what kind of pulley drop could I expect? I'll probably do a cam at the same time, but I'd like to know what I could get away with (without the cam).

    You already have headers...

Heads/Cam probably/most of the time allow at least a half inch drop in pulley size. Since your high compression a 3.25" or a 3.4" might suffice with more timing...should run great.

ZZP doesnt sell 3.25 pulleys anymore with the SS Kit. Your gonna need to go to a GTP belt/pulley set up to run under a 3.4
2001 GT. A few here and there mods http://www.streetfire.net/video/2001...ynp_208097.htm

You do realize that not dropping pulley and retuning might make more power?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I was just curious. I am probably going to sell my heads and just buy a VS cam. I can't afford to get my heads cleaned up and built at a machine shop.

People have made power with the VS cam. It's very streetable and I don't have to change any valvetrain components to run it, correct? Plus I can get a VS cam for $230 shipped.

If I wanted to change the springs, I have some new G8 springs I could use. Is that all I would need to change to use an XP or S1X cam?

My transmission is good to go. I found the problem causing the P0716 and P0717 codes. It was just the wiring going into the PCM shorting out in my intake cone.

G8 springs and retainers would be fine on a VS cam and I'd definitely change them if it were my car.

The VS is still a very noticeable difference over stock.
