what are you using to monitor KR?

Have you tried throwing some octane booster in to see if it changes in level?

    are you running a cat?

    try the octane booster.

Though you'd probably see KR before that if it was false.

    Still worth a try.

    How cold is it?

Colder denser air = leaner mix...

    could be why you're knocking....

Like my car knocked a little when it was below 40...and when in FL, it never knocked.

you could be leaning out and thats causing you to have KR or it could be false.

But seeing as its only above 7 PSI i'd say you're leaning out.

Octane booster will help you "get by" for now.

Ahh, well...again, you will knock like hell if its that damn cold, and you're not tuned for it being that cold.

Basically when the air is colder, it's denser. So the air density changes, and the fueling doesnt. So you create a lean condition...causing knock.

One way to test would to be hook up a A/F gauge, and see what she says.

yes. i saw a 5 psi increase in boost in the winter. also, your timing is higher due to the lower temperatures.

Yeah, you boost higher, which = more heat...which = more knock.

Just stay out of the throttle, or you're gonna go boom.

I'm surprised no one has asked what year your car is yet. If its an 04+ or Gen V equipped your KR doesn't surprise me at all. And some cars just knock more than others. Also you have an intense tune which is known to run the most timing out of all the can tunes which would make it much more likely for you to knock.

Fwiw the car will make some fuel adjustments for the temperature change. I depends on what the IAT sensor sees before the throttle body. This was a reason I tried the modified sensors a few years ago and people thought I was crazy.

See what your timing is during the knock. Then watch your fuel trims to see how positive or negative they are.
