speed daddys are the way to go. replace the flex section, buy better clamps and some rtv, and you have invested maybe $300-$350 and have great working headers.

if this sounds to cheap for you and you want a more out of the box quality feel then maybe try WBS headers. theyre the cheapest of the vendors. and not to mention a great vendor.

I've installed just about all the headers. Pacesetters seem to have major sealing issues until you weld parts. ZZP headers were a pretty straight forward install although the egr tube location on them is mighty high and I'd be careful when bending that tube that much. Speed Daddy's work well, you need to adjust the firewall and pick up better clamps. If you don't want a ticking flex..replace that while you are at it.

There's a how to thread on installing headers ...at least I think I did one. Mentions lowering the subframe to install. It's the best way I've tried so far.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I just installed some SSAC headers (Speed-Daddy) and let me tell you they fit really nice without any major issue. Like BillBoost said, you will have to replace the flex section if you don't want the ticking sound. I left the original flex, and somehow I like the sound, sounds like those old over-powered muscle car hehe

About performance, it is a great upgrade and since you have a 2004 GTP, you will be able to drop pulley size safely until 3.6". Don't forget the cooler thermostat, the intake and the pcm upgrade, as well as colder plugs (AL104 is the way to go) Torque/Power is greatly increase will all those mods, I would say about 40HP/TQ.

Have fun, and enjoy the boost!

PS : +4 on the SD Headers!

    +5 for SD headers

I had the V-band moved above the flex section so when there is an issue with the flex all I have to do is drop the downpipe.

I also had a O2 bung welded on the opposide side of stock SD headers, near the crossover, as far forward as possible. This gives ~ 3/8" clearance for a wideband o2 sensor.

The stock SD headers o2 interfered with the firewall and I ended up using an old jackstand and a 2"-2.25" reciever hitch adapter to dent in the firewall for using this location as well. (I heard some use an air hammer, mine was not powerful enough)

The most torque and hp for exhaust would be a turbo kit. I mean of someone is willing to pay $800 for headers what's $1200 more for a used turbo kit.

Kidding, header prices have come down so much over the years. Buddy has SD headers on his Regal and loves em'.

The speed daddys are'nt 1 3/4 primaries though, that's the only major thing I noticed on them.

My friends ssac headers and my pacesetters both have 1 3/4 primaries. So idk.

The description of the headers states 1 3/4 the pic states 1 1/5 so i'd email the seller first just to be sure. Imho.

I have SSAC's no complaints. Turbo Kits, Turbo Manifolds, Import Performance Products, SSAutochrome Inc..

They are what the Speed Daddy's are modeled after.
