Koenigsegg CCX - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

8.2:1 CR = 806 bhp, switch to E85 and it makes 1018 hp.

26% more power... Just by switching to E85 and cranking up the boost.

The only changes to the engine are modified fuel injectors, upgraded fuel lines and piston rings and a higher boost setting on the superchargers.
two centrifugal S/C's + a redesigned and fully built ford modular 4.6.... I say its a lot of win.

This doesnt seem right E85 and ? boost= 1018 HP???
The question needs to be E85=?HP @ X PSI
    or regual gas=?HP @ X PSI.
You say cranking up the boost AND E85 = 26% more power, IMO what really matters is E85= what HP with the SAME Boost.

Gaining 212 HP from ONLY E85 seems insane.
I understand its better fuel but its not nitrous like the big 212hp gain!!

I'm focusing more on the 26% more power part.

its 8.2:1 compression, so boost is easy to add if you have the octane for it.

Basically all they did was switch to higher octane fuel, add fuel, add boost.

Boost is irrelevant because the higher octane let them run that extra boost.

Thats like saying "lets compare 91 octane to 105 unleaded race gas, but lets not take advantage of the octane" it defeats the purpose of the experiment.

Remember the car already made 800 HP.

switch to E85 and add boost, +26% power.

You just restated everything in your 1st post E85 AND more Boost,

The question is what HP on E85 vs. Regular gas?

And I see no problems changing the boost level but its throwing of the results. Its not apples to apples no matter how to look at it. Same things is like me saying I gained X HP by doing a pulley drop. Well thats pretty obvious its going to make more power if its making more boost!
So still I do not think for a seconds E85 alone would make a difference of 212 HP

you dont get it at ALL do you.

Lets say you have a grand prix GTP thats stock but tuned for 87 octane, no knock.

it might make 230 crank hp.

put 100 octane race gas in it and it will still make 230 CHP because you didn't TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OCTANE VIA TIMING OR BOOST.

same applies to switching to E85.

    Go read this: http://www.grandprixforums.net/what-...here-1507.html

No no no your not getting me at all Im askin what is the HP?

    E85 @ X PSI tuned for E85 ???
    vs
Regual @ X PSI tuned for regual gas??

Whats that difference?? Leave the boost alone.
What your talking about is E85+more PSI=X HP
If you changed fuel and retuned it sure in the hell wouldnt be a 212 HP difference. Some gain because of the higher octane and tune being the only difference between the 2.

    I just reread your post.
    Simple answer:

E85 will make more power, if not from just timing advancement alone.

"Hey guys lets switch to E85 and NOT run more boost."
Alright.. good idea, what you going to say next, your going to add an intercooler and meth injection and keep the stock pulley on your regal?

It's like.. I'm going to take a stock turbocharged car like a wrx or dsm or something, say for this example the stock turbo peaks at around 250CFM or something like that. (This is just an example for the purpose of understanding why you are rong. Yes.. "RONG") Your saying.. you'd switch to something like a GT35R or HX35 or similar, a larger turbo allowing you to flow more power. (Like switching from low octane gas to E85). But you'd want to keep the CFM the same? Why? Why would you do that? That sounds like a huge waste of time and money and its just totally not relevant. People use E85 for the same reasons they use bigger turbos and such.. So they can run more boost and make more power because their previous gas or turbo or exhaust or head flow or whatever the hell your changing didn't allow you to.

Please tell me your trolling and this is all just some kind of sick, tasteless joke LOL.

Well in our cars apparently 1* of timing is worth 2-3 HP so maybe 10-30 HP at most.

Assuming you were running 16 and bumped it up to 26 you could theoretically gain 30 HP.... But wtf man.

who switches to a higher octane fuel and doesnt add boost?

Ok so basically a gen V is better than a fully ported gen III no matter what.... hmm so are there gains to be had in porting the gen V or is it a wasted effort because of the higher efficiency?

If your knock free, a higher octane gas won't do a damn thing for you without more timing and/or more boost.

That was about the Gen V, not E85.

    I'm done talking about E85.

I'll just let tengis come and sort this out.
