When I tightened up mine, they basically became stepped clamps.

Not trying to hijack, but does anyone know a good/proper way to clean these headers...Im not looking for them them to go back to factory shine, but rain water has begun to make'em look like sh*t.

    Glass cleaner

I've always used Mother's polish on tons of things they even tell you not to use it for...and it works great...try that in a small spot and see if it works for you.

Plus stainless really doesn't need to be coated... or even wrapped for that matter.

I got my SD headers installed yesterday. The guys rushed it because they stayed after-hours but I'm going back tomorrow to finish everything up. Had some fitment issues on my regal where the crossover meets the rear header, so they used the u-clamp that came with the kit. fortunately no issues so far. Will hopefully post some pix later today. I noticed a big difference in throttle response, nothing else spectacular, perhaps after a pulley and good tune I should be on my way..

Have fun getting them back apart if they tightened down the horse shoe clamp like they are designed to be.
