I have the same problem, clunks everytime i go from P-R-D or turn the wheel sometimes even when i hit the gas
i get that problem too with only going into reverse.
Shape of your motor mounts? They might be shot.
orignial bushings in dog mounts (have poly ones on the way) and the square poly ones in the mounts for the dog bones. tranny mount has never been replaced and lower engine mount seems fine.
Well if you're hitting those lines your lower mount isn't fine. Time for a new one. I have a write up around here somewhere on how to make your own poly lower mount out of a standard hyraulic one.
I had the same problem and a couple weeks after my header install my PS lines began leaking. The headers sawed right through the lines from shifting the motor. Had to relocate the lines. I get the sway bar clunking but only when in reverse.
i think ill end up just getting a new lower engine mount from oreillys since i work there and do the poly modification on it if u could send me the instructions or thread u made on doing it oh4compg.
i will also flip the sway bar and put all new bushings and endlinks on it.
also by the way i was sitting about 10 feet in front of my car and noticed the engine sits a little lower than the tranny side. it never used to be that way. it used to sit flat in the cradle. could that be a sign of a shot or soon to be shot lower engine mount?
If its lower...then it is already shot like I told you.
alright blue, chill. im gonna pick one up tomorrow and report back.
How was that UN chill? I'm just tellin ya since you said they "seemed" fine but yet you said one side was lower than the other which indicated that the fluid had spilled out from the factory mount and is now trash. Replace them with the solid rubber ones too, not the hydraulic fluid filled ones.
well i dont have a damn clue bout the lower engine mount. but i guess something new learned. if i get the solid rubber mount, it isnt gonna wear out quick?
I got a solid rubber mount from Advanced, and it's got a lifetime warranty on it, and when I replaced my old shot hydraulic mount, it made a world of difference.
what kind of a difference did u see machine?
