    Backstory:
I am in the process of a LIM gasket replacement on a '98 GTP. Long story short I was going to sell it for parts because it would not pass inspection and I did not want to put any money into it. After seeing the LIM in 33 minutes video on this forum i figure it was worth a shot to try. relatively inexpensive parts and learn a good deal in the process.

So every little process on this procedure has been way more troublesome that it should be. Vehicle was obviously not cared for very well.

    Problem
Today I hit a major snag. Removing the alternator bracket the bottom coolant connection to the engine sheared off in the hole. I had thought this was a plastic connection like the elbow above, but after inspection it appears it is actually part of the bracket and now there is a ring of steel/aluminum in the engine side orifice.

Is there an easy solution to this problem. Or is it time to say enough is enough and call the junkyard to take it away?

I can add pics tomorrow to show exactly what happened.

I don't really know what you're trying to say but both of the elbows are plastic. One broke off when I did mine and a screwdriver was all i used to get it out. Just buy new plastic elbows, they're like $4.

    PICS:

    That is plastic??

I have extra plastic elbows, but the elbow here is part of the bracket.

try a pick, or a gutter spike, the spike head should insert and be able to grab the lip inside

^x2 or bu the bracket from a junk yard and save yourself the trouble. also if you have it off the car. take a screwdriver or something with a hammer and try to split it in half. things like that happen on old 350's with the heater hose going into the back of the intake manifold. iv always used the screwdriver and hammer method to split it then pull it out. pretty simple.

YES! came out rather easy actually. Got it good with PB Blaster & then pried it out with a screw driver. Thanks for the tips.

Is the newer bracket (with the 2 plastic elbows) fully compatible with my engine?

Now I can't seem to remove the LIM. Stuck on the side opposite the drive belts. Are there any hidden bolts over there?

There is a bolt hidden down in one of the channels on the front-right side, mine was covered in gunk, dirt, and pieces of acorn shells. It's just left of the thermostat port.
