I was wondering how much work it is to change a fuel injector on cylinder 5. What do I all need to take off to get to the injector?
Thanks

Take the fuel rail off. Pull the clip that holds it on the rail. Then it will pull off the rail.
make sure you change all of the orings while its out. dont forget to use either o-ring grease or vasoline to lube them before you put them back into the intake manifold and the rail
Serious question, why do parts stores say this car needs 12 o-rings?
Ah, "if the first one ****s up or doesnt fit because we're so incompitent, theres another one!"
You missed the joke.
Simply put, it seems overkill to have two injector o rings. That is all.
The design probably requires it, but that would be an interesting design now wouldnt it.

one for the top of the injector when it goes into the fuel cup, one for the bottom when it goes into the bung on the head or manifold. its not rocket science fellas its only a 3.8![]()
Oh just wait till you have to work on a DI'd engine...
yea its easy as hell to do only thing i had issue with was the retaners they were a b1tch to get clipped
youll probably have a hard time getting your old injector out. i used some pb blaster and just kept twisting it back and forth. then it popped right out. and your new injector will come with new o rings. dont be shocked, they are about 80 bucks apiece.
Well I was working last night and drove my sisters car and my dad decided to replace it himself. He said it was pretty easy. Thanks for the help guys.
