Homer with glasses is right. Do the maintenance, use GM filters, Dexron VI, a good shift kit, and it may hold up to a good 300hp... as long as you don't beat the poop out of it like a moron! Use the new power wisely, understand how the tranny works, and don't treat it like a slave! Some guys mod beyond 300 with stock tranny's without much problem (but some guys don't mod at all and have failure early on).
