Just curious. Hypothetical mod list: Intake, downpipe/u-bend delete, and water injection. What pulley size could you get away with and maintain minimal KR? 3.4? 3.2? 3.0?

with out flow mods, aka headers, a 3.4 might be the limit. you also need a tuner.

Yeah, I should have said tune. It was implied. You don't think the downpipe would be enough huh?

    Tune or TUNER.

Because for nozzle and pulley changes, you'll need to tweak it.

Just get injectors and convert it to E85. Much easier. Better results. I ran a 3.2" on a GenV (which is like a 3.0"~ or so on a GenIII) with a 3" downpipe, 42lb injectors, and was tuned via HPT and a wideband...otherwise stock.

    Methanol is meh.

    Front manifold is very restrictive.

With my mods in my sig, I am slowly but surely dropping down in pulley size (currently at a 3.2, but working my way back to a 3.0). Curious what your AFR tables were set at on the 3.0/E85 setup with that few of mods? Any suggestions for WOT AFR, PE enable settings, etc.? Sounds like you had it pretty well dialed in. Thx!

Enable settings are up to the end user, pretty much a personal preference for what throttle percentage you want it at.

E85 can be leaner if you want, figure 11.5-12.0 with that fuel should be plenty safe.

Sounds good. I have been in that exact range on this E85 build thus far with good effects. Time to drop pulleys!

E85 is easier if you have access to it. But, spraying meth will give you great results too. You should easily be able to run a 3.2.

    No need for headers.

    Yup, headers suck.

Pretty sure I was around 19-20* advance (basically a little modded 04+ timing table if I remember right) in the low 12's with AFR. Reptile tuned it since we usually work on stuff together. Couldn't tell you much anything else since I never got into tuning, but I'm sure he has the file. I'd send him a PM on your end and I'll let him know this weekend since we are probably working on a couple things anyway.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSCllMsre_U - That was Rynoman on here...pretty much every bolt-on you can do running pump gas on a GenIII...I think he was on a 3.2" or close to that. That car however has a huge stereo and a full interior while my pile was totally gutted from front to back minus the carpet, dash, and two front seats, haha.

You definitely need to do something with the front manifold. Either Port, plog, or headers. here are a few pics of my NA 3800 port job. Takes time but helps.

Looks like you added some weld material. Smart. I ported my front manifold years ago and it cracked the manifold after a few months of use. I now use a PLOG and have had no problems.
