06/07 + gt are series III engines, supercharged with a gen V blower so has 260 hp, (had to help matt lols). so they would have killed you.
so you raced a base they have n/a 3800.
as for intake making a difference is it a cold air intake or is it just sitting in the engine bay sucking up you hot engine bay air?if so that a warm air intake and not a cold air intake and would be losing power if anything, N/A need cold air intake of some sort to make a difference. and catback isnt doing anything cept making race noise. glad your butt dyno says it gives you more power lol. but you winning by half a car length is only cause you launched harder/quicker or if it was from a roll your car downshifted quicker, luck of the draw if its by half a car length.
i have to disagree. i run an open cone, and it's far and away better than all of my previous "cold air" intake setups...
No bro.... you wouldn't walk an '06 and '07 GT. They would school you so hardcore. They had things that whined.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus running Rootzboat. I'm on a boat!
so sucking in super hot engine bay air that around 200+ degress is better then sucking up nice fresh cold air from outside? believe what you like but it has been proven only supercharged cars benefit from open cone, and if open cone is so great why do people pull their driver side headlight out at the dragstrip? to get that fresh cold coldair to their silly open cone.
I also asked overkill before he tuned me should i run open cone or cold air intake, he said if you cooler the better. and yes i have tried both setup and found "hot air intake" after sitting at a light for 5 minutes gave me a handfull of slow lol.
goes right under my headlight and stright into the bumper, dats cold air for ya!
Hel Slpgpgt... what are your thoughts on
GT1 or ER rocks and a HV3? Cause I kinda feel like you left me out by never responding. Let's pretend I modded a car or two. Entertain my suggestion.
Grimsin.
You're beating a dead horse with the intake stuff.
Open Cone > Cold Air Intake
It's all about flow over ambient air temps.
Its all about what lets you sleep at night.
It lets me sleep at night though.
Otherwise I'd have nightmares of giant air filters.
Guy, here comes the trollin'
210 CRANK horsepower...MAYBE.
Stock GT's struggle to make 170 WHEEL horsepower stock.
I'm sure you're around 170~...MAYBE 180. Maybe.
Which is a solid high 15, low 16 second car. Not beating a SeriesIII Supercharged car by any means...ever. Unless I covered his tires in bleach.
Why so serious?
i agree blue open cone is best bang for buck money compared to a $300 cai setup, my cold air intake setup cost $50 lol i keep forgetting not as easy for you gp/regal dudes. i have been switching hai to cai for years and i finally settled for cai setup.next year im doing the qtr mile if my tranny doesnt blow up ill try different setup so we can start beaten this dead horse more lol.
As for beaten the dead horse....hasnt got old for me yet lol i love the same old arguments lol.
speaking of giant air filters i just got mine today, posted a pic of it in my thread in members rides
its so RACEKAR now.
It was dyno proven that the Open Cone makes more power, that's all. As well, shorter intake = better throttle response. When you are dealing with motors that don't make much power...every little bit helps.
