Id keep your stock one in.
*sigh*
Search guy...try the first 2 links if you don't know...
Let me google that for you
So, just like every other night?
Whats the stop temp? Around 300F?![]()
stock? 195*?
LOLz
I always drill a small 1mm or less hole in the thermostat plate. Install the hole at the 12:00 position (Up) so it naturally bleeds out air as you refill the cooling system.
The procedure for deaeration is to idle and rev idle and rev, but with this mod, you only have to fill, idle, and drive. Works for me every time.
Hey tricky, got a write up to your 1mm hole thing?? i gotta change my tstat here shortly. take out the dexcool completely and replace with green, or flush and replace??
you take the t-stat and drill a hole in it.
if you need a write up for that how would you ever hang a picture in your house?
That won't bleed the system either. that just lets coolant and air flow when the t-stat is closed.
thats not just the internet, thats life.
You ask 10 people a question and see what answer you get most. If you get a lot of conflicting answers you use your best judgment based on the answers you got from people.
Me? I use a 195F stat as per stock and follow GM's bleeding procedure.
If you are stock or have small mods with a stock tune then stick with the 195.
when i replaced my 3800 it came out of a 96 regal and i assume it had a 180 tstat in it.
if what you are saying about stock, should i change back to 195 or leave it be?
