Hello all. New guy here. Been lurking for a while but never posted.

While replacing the injector o-rings last night due to installing a new UIM, one of the orange tips on the injector decided to crack off in 3 pieces. Since the o-ring is what seals it in the LIM, can it still be used or do I need to buy an entirely new injector now?

youre talking about the little plastic rings? so long as you get the o-ring to seat well then you shouldnt have a problem.

No, I mean the plastic tip that goes at the very end of the injector. It surrounds the exit of the injector, looks like a small funnel. The plastic o-ring above the new rubber o-ring is suprisingly ok.

Gafford44, may take you up on that offer if I can't find one locally. I'll get back if need be.

    Thanks guys!

You dont need the clips. All mine are broken off. It just helps hold the oring. Most break them when they roll the O-ring off the injector. No worries

Here is a pic of what I mean. If you look at the end of the right hand injector you will see the missing tip...

01gpgt01- So it should still be good to go like this? I mean, the new o-ring is on ok (as seen in pic), but wasn't sure if the plastic tip served any purpose as to direct the fuel spray or something along those lines. As long as it doesn't leak fuel that's all I care about.

Lol, yeah. I wondered how long it would take someone to notice. I've had that screen name forever, so I use it on all my car forums. I may be a Ford guy, but appreciate other makes/models as well. I have quite a few other cars and one of them happens to be my 00 GPGT, which I love (other than the UIM)
