My fiance's car stumples when you give it some throttle after its been running for awhile. If I start it up and snap it to 3k rpm it preforms just fine, but then if I let it sit there for a few minutes and then try to snap it to 3k rpm, it'll stumple a little bit and then go to 3k rpm.
Also when driving in any gear if you give it enough throttle it stumple a little bit the recover just to stumble some more.
I don't know a whole lot about gasoline engines, diesels are my thing, so I don't really know where to start.
My father-in-law-to-be says it sounds like its loading up. He said I should start by running a bottle of injector clean through a tank of fuel.

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter?
Spark plugs, wires, MAF, intake filter, weak fuel pump(?) may all be culprits. Maybe a clogged cat (doubtful?)? 118,000 isn't bad if it's been maintained. I'd start at cheap/easy and work my way down the list.

It the PO did an awesome job maintaining it. I don't know whether or not any of those things were ever replaced. I know that an O2 was replaced sometime after her parents bought the car for her. (But don't these have two? )
Can you post video on this forum?
    If so, I will.
What would you start with then?

Well, finally a CEL was set.
Code reader said cylinder 1 misfire.
I changed the plug, the ceramic part looked cracked.
It ran fine for a little while, but started stumbling again. Not as bad as b4 though.
Also it seems interesting that that wire is the only one thats not a factory wire.?
Next step is to replace that.

Well, I replaced that plug wire, and its not fixed.
The problem has improved some though.
It only stumbles when you lug it down below about 2200-2300 rpm.
Like when you in OD going pretty slow and trying to accelerate.
It has not stumbled above 2500rpm since I changed these things.

try swaping coils with another on your carsee if it follows,Then if that doesnt work swap around the injector with another cylinders injector and see if the misfire follows.

That's a good idea, but for some reason it won't set a code.
It took 6 weeks before the first code was set. And it hasn't set another code yet.
