Ok the amount of stress that whipping a M90 into full boost progressively on most setups isn't even comparable to the amount of force jumping into boost on a turbo.

You're forgetting that 10psi out of an M90 is much different then 10psi out of even a small turbo like a 61.

Turbo v. Positive displacement S/C are two totally different animals.
Yes. And what I'm saying is that 6psi with a base non-intercooled Z3 kit will not destroy your trans anymore than a topswapped setup would. You'd probably run 13.9 on a good day with your average topswapped 3.4" setup and a 13.6 with that base kit with a much easier install z3 kit. Also easily upgradeable.

I'm not disagreeing with ya bro. But he has a $2k cap and best bang for the buck in his position would a S/C setup. Granted he could grab a used turbo kit off the forums. Ive seen many go for around that price including my original lol.

Speed is an addiction the faster you go the slower it becomes.

Topswap. I have a friend that did the SSM90, the single belt setup sucks and it ends up costing more than a topswap most of the time unless you overpay. Average price is around 300 for the hard parts, then around 150 for gaskets and small parts like coolant elbows. Good luck with the swap man.

Nice man, if you pay over $350 you're paying too much though (unless the blower's ported). Make sure you check the heads too to make sure they're not cracked. If I had the cash at the time I would've gotten mine dipped & magnafluxed, but I didn't so I just took the chance. With a good tune you should be able to hit high 13s easy.

Im gonna tell you right now you want headers immediately or you will burn pistons on the top swap.

Not true, headers are a good idea, but after my swap I didn't even have so much as a downpipe yet and I was MAXING a 3 or 4* KR in like 1 or 2 areas, most were around .5-1.5 or 0, which we were able to tune out for the most part. I think there's like 1 area at the top of second or 3rd that hit .5* post-tuning and that was before the dp. But that's with a stock 3.8, if you wanna go smaller you need headers.

Headers are a must, you should be fine on a stock pulley and mediocre tune.

I paid $190 for a race shop to rebuild my heads.

With a GOOD tune you should be able to run a 3.5, but if mini is running a 3.4 I don't see why you wouldn't be able too, but you just have to get a good tune. If you're getting a canned tune...I wouldn't drop lower than a 3.6.

Im plannin on going the same route as u man but im wanting at least mid to low 13's in the 1/4. From what i know i would say u still need the small things for the 3.4 pulley too. 180 t-stat, colder plugs, an such should hlp out too. Headers an a fenderwell intake grants even less chance of having kr on your car if u drop smaller pulley sizes

You can't run a 3.4" on a top swap or SSM90 kit without an IC, or a cam or headwork...its not happening.
