Welcome to GPF. The damage was probably already done when you blew the head gasket. Most likely your problem is the same as the OP's, or a spun rod bearing. Either way it sounds like you'll probably end up having to either rebuild or replace your engine. Fixing it will still be cheaper than scrapping the car and buying another...
